Fielding/Catching Drill helping to Improve Reaction Time
strengthspeedagility.com This is a cool little Fielding/Catching Drill which will help you to improve your reaction time. It is important that you stay low and obviously WATCH THE BALL all the way in. I use this for cricket but can be used for whatever sport whether it be baseball, tennis, hockey, basketball or even if you are football goalkeeper.

@strengthspeedagility Y don’t use a proper leather 5/5 oz if tht hits ur hnd it gonna hurt its a bigger ball its mor difficult to catch a golf will urt bt its too small so if u gt ur hands in front it is gonna stick to
ur hnd its alot easier to take straight catches tri n hit it on the left and right side bats more..

@0105MEHUL leather balls do not bounce back well or anywhere near as fast. The idea of the drill is to track the ball and try react to balls coming off the edge. With a cricket ball you really cant get that unless you involve a partner and have them hit a ball and you underarm it back from close range! I have tried the golf ball by the way. The ping pong ball is still my preferred option.

@Qaphsiel1 Are you cat with 9 lives?
January 25th, 2012 at 10:54 am
Okay say I do this daily. Do I still see results if I throw the ball at the same pace every time or am I supposed to gradually speed it up?
January 26th, 2012 at 4:03 pm
@Primape92 I like to throw balls at different speeds. The idea is to challenge yourself so if you are catching every ball then its too easy. So speed it up!

Try using a proper leather ball or a tape ball
